How will I know if got a fellowship?
We will contact you by email to inform you if you won a fellowship or not. Check the date on the Application page.
How do I get from the airport to Erice?
A private shuttle will pick you up from the airport of Palermo on October 15th. You will also have a lift on your way back from Erice to the airport on the departure day.
At what airport will I arrive?
You will arrive at Palermo.
Who will book my flight?
You will book the flights according to your preferences; once the programme is concluded you will receive a refund of up to 500€ on your bank account. We will reimburse only tickets in Economy class. We will refund you only the tickets you will send to us once you have bought them; if you will miss your flight the new tickets will not be reimbursed.
To obtain your refund, you must have attended the event, and sent us your ticket purchase receipts and boarding passes. Please note that we will reimburse only your flights - trains, taxi, ecc. to arrive to the airport will not be considered-.
If you are a fellowship winner, you will receive a detailed e-mail with all the instructions and forms to obtain your refund.
Please note that the above only applies to EU citizens, for non-EU applicants the flights are at their own expenses.
Were will I stay?
Arrangements are made by the Ettore Majorana Foundation. You will be provided a double room (you can suggest your roommate), with ensuite bathroom in one of the four local ancient monasteries. In order to preserve the traditional atmosphere the rooms are kept plain, with no radio or TV. You’ll be granted free wifi access though.
Are meals included?
Yes, breakfast will be served in one of the monasteries. You’ll have lunch and dinner in local restaurants.
Can I bring a companion?
Because of the nature of the event, students cannot bring a companion in the accommodation. If you want to stay with your companion, you can rent a house in Erice or book a hotel; in this cases everything will be at your own expenses and it will not be possible to reimburse you. As for the accommodation, meals and shuttles from/to the airport will not be included for your companion. To conclude, they cannot attend the School.
Do I need to bring my own laptop?
Yes, please bring your own laptop or tablet.
Do I need to attend the whole program?
Yes, attendance at all of the sessions is required.
